Licensed Practical Nurse

Details: The LPN oversees the care to all residents which includes supervision of nursing staff, administration of medications and treatments Plans, directs and provides resident care according to physician orders and the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care. Communicates changes in resident’s condition in a timely fashion to include but not limited to the RN, physician, other disciplines, the following shift, and family members. Administers medications and treatments in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and with the facility policies and procedures. Assists in gathering data to complete resident assessment in accordance with the minimum data set requirements and develops and updates Interdisciplinary Care Plans. Make daily resident rounds per assignment  to determine current resident status. Performs venipuncture to obtain blood specimens according to facility practice May start and maintains IV therapy including administration of IV medications according to facility practice and manufacture/pharmacy direction (per licensure). Assists with the supervision of nursing personnel as assigned Uses standard precautions to prevent spread of communicable diseases.  Enforces and trains proper infection control practices to staff, residents and visitors. Actively participates in all required in-service programs and staff meetings, including program presentation.     Part Time 11-7.  Four days per pay period including every other weekend/holiday.
