Details: Merging of both academics and acute care in this creative nursing position; to include college of nursing and clinical educator responsibilities. Provides classroom, clinical and / or laboratory instruction to nursing students in the areas of nursing concepts and clinical practice, uses traditional, non-traditional, and innovative methods of instructions, including the use of technology; uses effective interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills while instructing in an integrated curriculum that emphasizes professionalism, ethical decision-making, accountability, critical thinking, and effective communication; utilizes the application of liberal arts constructs, science, health, nursing theories, and evidence-based practice to achieve these curriculum outcomes. Demonstrates a commitment to student academic success; assists students in acquiring the intellectual and psychomotor skills necessary for the practice of nursing and is accountable for the promotion of safe and effective nursing through teaching, service, and collaboration with other professionals. Adult medical-surgical patients are the focus of this practice, based upon the needs of the patient and healthcare system. Scope of practice encompasses use of nursing process in major areas: practice, education, consultation, research, and administration. Responsible for the ongoing needs assessment of staff, orientation of new staff, and competency requirements as defined by regulatory bodies and facility practice. This position is critical to the success of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health.REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) years clinical experience with expertise in content area of teaching required. One (1) year experience in classroom teaching preferred. Master's degree in Nursing, or higher BSN with master's preparation in another area may be considered.
