Resp Therapist RRT PRN / As Needed Schedule Respiratory Therapy

Details: Job: Therapy & Rehabilitation POSITION SUMMARY:Knowledge of patient responses, side effects and proper dosages of medications used in respiratory care. Able to communicate effectively with Physicians, patients, managers and the publics. Ability to teach/instruct, assess and reassess others. Able to recognize and report abuse and neglect in patients. Knowledge of generally accepted practices in respiratory care as prescribed by the physician. Delivers, set-up, and maintains routine and non-routine therapies and equipment (i.e., oxygen, aerosol therapy, ventilators) utilized by Respiratory Therapy. Ability to perform and interpret Arterial Blood Gases.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Uses knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and emergency procedures to provide safe and effective patient care.2. Maintains strict infection control techniques at all times.3. Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.4. Participate in Quality Improvement activities as assigned.5. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.6. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.7. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient's care which results in patient harm.8. Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements.9. Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.10. Regular, Punctual and dependable attendance.
