You will participate in collaborative practice and Shared Governance in an environment where nurses excel and are valued.The focus of the Electrophysiology Lab is the diagnosis and treatment of problems with the 'electrical' system of the heart. Based on results from studies performed in the EP Lab, appropriate treatment options for various rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias) can be offered. These options may consist of, or be a combination of, medications, pacemaker/defibrillator implantations, electrical shock and application of heat (cautery) to the heart tissue.Virginia Mason’s electrophysiology program is the most active in the region, performing over 1,500 procedures annually. The EP team offers a multitude of testing and treatment capabilities, including: • Radiofrequency catheter ablation • Cardioversion • Tilt-table test • Pacemaker insertion • Implantable cardiac defibrillator implantation (ICD) • Atrial-ventricular node ablation • Insertable loop recorder • Non-invasive program stimulation. Virginia Mason's electrophysiologists are national leaders in ablation procedures for treatment of arrhythmias and in the use of cardiac resynchronization therapy to treat congestive heart failure.As an EP Lab Registered Nurse you will be responsible for circulating as an RN in the EP Lab including patient preparation and recovery. You will demonstrate critical thinking skills and recognized nursing techniques in the planning and provision of quality patient care. You will also administer medications, monitor patient vital signs, and continue patient care and assessment during the patient’s time in the EP lab. As an EP Lab nurse you will need to ensure accurate documentation and coordinate patient teaching and post procedure assessment. You should also demonstrate excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. RN will also srub for cardiac device surgeries (ICDs and Pacemakers).Must have recent RN EP lab experience. A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License is required for this position.
