RN Float Pool I (Med/Surg and Tele/PCU), Full Time/Nights - FULL

Details: Requisition Number: 01385-4129Primary Location: United States-Florida-St Petersburg-Northside HospitalSchedule: Full-timeDescription: Founded in 1976, Northside Hospital is a 288-bed facility located in the heart of South Pinellas County, Florida.   Northside is part of the HCA West Florida Division of Hospitals, a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery and diagnostic imaging facilities, and a complete continuum of specialized healthcare programs that meet the healthcare needs of residents and businesses in West and Central Florida communities.  Our parent company, HCA, is the nation's leading provider of healthcare services.  RN Float Pool staff will be assigned to designated units throughout the hospital based upon the daily staffing needs of the facility.   The RN will only be floated to areas for wich they are qualified and competent. Position is built on a 12-hour night shift (7p-7a), 36 hours/week with an every other weekend typical rotation. RN Float I - Position will be required to float to Med/Surg, Progressive Care and Telemetry Units and must comply with all license, certification and training requirements required in those units. RN Float II - Position will be required to float to Critical Care and Emergency Services and must comply with all license, certification and training requirements required in those units. Skill Mix:  RN, LPN, Unit Secretary, Monitor Technician, CNA, Student Nurse Major Equipment Used:  IV pumps, Dinamaps, Dopplers, Crash Cart Special Certifications Needed:  BLS; ACLS preferred (must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire) Special Competencies/Skills Needed:  EKG/Telemetry Schedules:  12-hour shifts (7-7);  Full Time is considered 36 hours per week, including every other weekend Dress code:  Tasteful scrubs (individual provides their own) Designated Charge Nurse/Clinical Coordinator who DOES NOT take an assignment At Northside, we utilize complete computerized charting (Meditech) for our patient assessment and care documentation.  We also utilize eMAR, our electronic medication administration record for the delivery of all medications provided to our patients. Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS through the American Heart Association. Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification--available online and free of charge at www.strokeassociation.org. Prefer a minimum of one year prior Telemetry/PCU Nursing experience. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
